A key chapter in our story is a commitment to sustainability and reducing our footprint to help preserve the very nature that makes our wilderness experience one of the best in the world.
The onset of global warming is upon us, and we have witnessed first hand the changes in the environment over the last thirty years of operation. We try as best we can to minimize our footprint, while introducing outsiders to our local mountains, showing first hand the importance of sustainability, environmental protection and preservation.
We are a small company catering to only twelve guests. We are proud that we use only one helicopter in our operation, and that we can showcase nature to our guests and promote the need for stewardship of the earth.
As a company, we commute to work, we compost and recycle. We grow a large organic garden at the Snowwater office, and the food that we grow is pickled, preserved, and frozen for winter operations.
The Snowwater Village is heated by propane. This is a clean, environmentally friendly fuel both before and after combustion, and therefore does not leave a detrimental impact on the environment.
We know that we are heli skiing and using fuel to do so. But we are proud that our helicopter provider- Blackcomb Helicopters - is officially a 100% Carbon Neutral company!
We are always striving to innovate in ways that help to offset our carbon emissions. For the past 35 years our forestry business, Site Specific Management, has collected millions of seedlings which become the forests of the future.
