PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

At Snowwater we share a common bond of unparalled enthusiasm for powder skiing. Our goal is to inspire each guest with that same passsion and love for this great sport.

We aim to provide an exciting and intimate mountain experience both on and off the slopes. We have kept our lodge limit to only 12 people per night.  We believe this ensures a quality experience which allows us to cater to each individual.  You have my word that no request goes unattended.

We invite you to come and enjoy the experience of a lifetime!

You won’t be disappointed.

Live large!

THE STAFF

PATRIC MALONEY

Patric is the founder of Snowwater. It is his dream and vision that has built, shaped, and created the company. For the better part of his adult life, Patric has been skiing, climbing and exploring these mountains.  He procured the tenure and has been guiding since he started the business 8 years ago, beginning with snowmobile ski touring, then snowcat skiing and now heli skiing.  As a forester his mapping and layout skills have greatly contributed to our road layout and scouting of new heli terrain.  He is certified by the CSGA and CAA and has his advanced wilderness first aid. Patric is a crowd favorite. When you are skiing with "El Presidente" you will definitely find the goods.

Certified by the CSGA and CAA she also has her Occupational Level 3 first aid and has been instrumental in setting up our safety program. She ski patrolled at Red Mountain for 7 years and is a telemark and level II ski instructor. Maria’s priority is the safety and happiness of each client.  She is always willing to give you pointers about your skiing!

SCOTT NEWSOME

Scott joins us this winter for his second season at Snowwater. Scott has paved the way for other aspiring snowboard guides and claims the title as world's first Assistant ACMG snowboard guide!   That is a huge feat!   Born into the mountain community of Jasper in the Canadian Rockies, Scott has been skiing and riding the big mountains his whole life.  You may have heard of Scott before - he has been in many snowboard movies carving the big lines of Alaska since the 80's. He has workd as a coach and instructor for snowboarders and currently teaches avalanche courses for the CAA.  He resides in Revelstoke with his wife and two little boys.

EXECUTIVE CHEF

RYAN ORR

Ryan is returning this year to us for his second season and we are nothing less than thrilled about it!  He is a Red Seal certified Chef who adds a professional, artistic flair to everything he does, whether it's his card tricks or his plates in the kitchen.  Ryan has spent the last 11 years cutting his teeth and plying his trade around the world. Spending the last 4 summers working at Clayoquot Wilderness Resort in Tofino B.C., Ryan has come to know and love the remote, wilderness environment these kitchens provide.  Victoria B.C. is home to this island boy, but you may notice he seems just as happy standing outside of the lodge, thumb out, trying to catch a lift on the next Heli!

PILOTS AND DRIVERS

SIMON RAITS

Simon has been driving our snowcat for the last seven years.   In charge of maintaining all of our snowcats and our generators at both Snowwater and Valhalla he is an indispensible commodity to our businesses. He can fix just about anything that breaks down.  He also spends a lot of time getting our firewood which is our main souce of heat at the lodge via our wood fired water boiler systems.  In addition he's about as nice a guy as you could ever want to meet.   We are thrilled to have Simon working with us.

TESTIMONIALS

"Basically just a great operation… our group really appreciated our guides…extremely knowledgable, stellar skiers and fantastic people on top of it! Can’t wait to come back next year!”
TIM GORNET, Kentucky, IL.

"What an awesome time we had at your place. We do appreciate your business."

STEVE ELLIS

Wells Fargo

San Francisco

“I've been to a lot of lodges and I've never had a feeling like I have here. It's a family here.  It's just very comfortable to come back at the end of the day, sip a cold beer, talk about the great powder that you skied and get ready to do it again tomorrow."
